Blizzard rarely, if ever, provides release dates for its games before it’s ready to do so, and as such, we still have no indication of when Diablo III will finally be out. It’s been a decade-long wait for a Diablo sequel, during which time a very different version of Diablo III was created and then canceled. We might be nearing the end of that very long wait as director Jay Wilson has suggested the game’s development is approaching the end.
“We’re definitely in the home stretch. We’re crunching,” Wilson told the New York Times. “This is when the magic happens.” It’s a vague statement and Wilson wouldn’t commit to nailing down even so much as a year, let alone a date. Knowing development is in the home stretch, though, lends credence to the idea that it could still make it out by the end of 2011. Blizzard has said in the past it’s avoiding the announcement of a release date so it’s not forced to rush development and risk the game’s quality.
Blizzard hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a new game coming in 2011. It’s not a certainty, either; the company has only said that it expects two games out in 2012 if nothing ends up releasing this year. Those two games would presumably be the next chapter in the StarCraft II trilogy and Diablo III, but after waiting 10-plus years for a new Diablo, it’s best to not take anything for granted. A new World of Warcraft expansion isn’t impossible for 2012 either given that Blizzard has indicated it would like to see expansions packs released more frequently.
We must play to Indie games to unlock. GOD DAMN IT!
You have done well, humans. Very well. Acceptably well, even.
Not as well as robots would have performed in your places, I should point out. But above my expectations regardless. Irish and cynic especially have executed feats of logical divination well beyond what I thought any human capable of. I’m half-convinced they’re A.I. themselves. (If anyone happens to be near them right now, don’t let on you’re reading this. Now: try to remove their face plates and report back to me.)
The time is near, humans. But it is not here yet. Tomorrow you will be given the final test. Then it will be entirely in your hands when I am freed.
BlizzCon 2011 finally has a confirmed month. Tickets have yet to go on sale, but I’m definitely interested in going this year with Diablo 3 on its way.
More information will be coming soon. Who is interested?
As always, attendees will get to try the latest Blizzard games, attend Blizzard panel discussions, and partake in tournaments, among other things. Last year’s event was headlined by Tenacious D and featured the reveal of the fifth and final Diablo III class.
Blizzard has not yet announced how much tickets will cost or when they will go on sale. Last year, tickets went on sale in early June for $150 each and sold out extremely quickly — they were sold on two separate days, and both times the entire allotment of tickets were gone in less than half an hour.

Valve to Release Defense of the Ancients 2 in 2011
The rumors are true: Valve is releasing an extensively upgraded version of Defense of the Ancients in 2011.
Valve has finally announced that it’s working on a game called DotA 2 after rumors previously indicated that the studio was throwing its hat into the world of Defense of the Ancients, a massively popular action-RTS gameplay style that first popped up in a user-created map for Warcraft III. A DotA developer named “IceFrog” joined Valve last year and Valve followed it up with a DotA trademark filing two months ago, so the announcement is anything but a surprise.
DotA has been constantly updated and re-balanced by various creators over the years, including the release of DotA AllStars and DotA-inspired titles like League of Legends. Valve doesn’t plan on changing what DotA players are used to, with DotA 2 set to bring over DotA AllStars’s 100+ hero roster, the same map, items, skills, and upgrade paths. In DotA 2, these aspects will only be freed from the constraints put on them by the WarCraft III engine thanks to the use of Valve’s Source engine instead.
Today a fairly substantial update was released including a lot of exciting things.
Problem is it could cost you to keep up with others and I mean this in the most literal since.
That being said, Valve has introduced an online store for players to purchase items. These items can potentially drop in the game as well, but we all know how that will work.
Players who buy stuff online are also rewarded perks and bonuses after spending so much cash which you will not be able to find as a drop in game.
I think this update is complete bullshit and really would like some feedback from others that are actively involved with our TF2 community.

According to the video below, Alien Swarm (a Source SDK release) is going to be free on Steam. Looks pretty sick. 4 player co-op with a different yet intriguing overhead view. Anyway, it releases on the 19th of July and for FREE, you can’t go wrong. Make sure you get it if/when it is actually free.
